HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION OF MALAYSIA (SUHAKAM)
The Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (SUHAKAM) was established by the Parliament under the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia Act 1999 and is mandated as the National Human Rights Institution (NHRI), to promote and protect human rights. Post: PRINCIPAL ASSISTANT SECRETARY - GRADE 48, SABAH OFFICE
Salary Scale: RM5,206.00 and an additional allowance of RM1,550.00 per month
Status of Post: Permanent (No Pension)
Location: Sabah Office (Branch)
Responsibilities
Principal Assistant Secretary Grade 48 of the Sabah Office will be responsible among others, for the following duties:
i) In-charge of the Sabah Office and supervise the day-to-day management of the officers and staff;
ii) Planning, implementing, and monitoring the yearly work plan as well as promoting human rights, and conducting research, investigating complaints of human rights violations and monitoring the expenditure of the Sabah Office.
iii) Establish cooperative relationships with stakeholders and non-governmental organisations (NGO) to promote human rights;
iv) Carry out other duties as determined by the Commission from time to time.
KELAYAKAN:
Untuk memohon, bakal calon perlu pastikan mereka memenuhi semua kriteria kelayakan yang ditentukan oleh majikan. Untuk jawatan yang ditawarkan oleh syarikat ini, kelayakan asas adalah seperti berikut:
Qualifications:
i. Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Law, International Affairs or any related field from University or Education Institutions recognized by the Commission;
ii. Candidates with at least 5 years of working experience and possess knowledge and understanding of human rights as well as administration and finance;
iii. Credit in Bahasa Malaysia (including Oral Test) and English at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or equivalent qualification recognized by the Commission;
iv. Possess skills and experience in writing reports, conducting research and organising activities regarding human rights promotion;
v. Good communication skills with fluency in both written and oral Bahasa Malaysia and English; and
vi. Must be able to work in teams with minimal supervision.
